More About Me

When boys my age were captivated by their 2 p.m. anime cartoons, I enjoyed sports shows like Rome is Burning, Pardon the Interruption, and Around the Horn. The journalists' ability to voice their opinions on these shows, regardless of fans' or colleagues' reactions, captivated my attention. This is where I found my love for media.

That led me to pursuing journalism at CSUN because I wanted to share my perspective on sports as well as captivate communities with stories that helped them escape their own realities. I wanted to be a historian of sports and have my byline plastered on athletes' walls.

However, I got into sports media and the business did not make sense to me. I could not afford to take a pay-cut or leave for a smaller market due to my family situation. I saw the amount of people lining up for jobs at ESPN so I had to figure something else out.

Figuring it out, meant landing in advertising. I wanted to learn about the backbone to media. I leveraged that experience with relationship building, data analysis and negotiations with my writing and journalism experience to get into public relations.

What I found is a passion for the business of media at all scales. I bridge the gap between journalists and brands by helping brands understand the media landscape as well as teaching media how they can better understand brands. I've grown relationships and expertise in Entertainment, Cannabis, Blockchain, Sports and Finance media. I've also developed influence and goodwill with local, national and regional media of all scales.

My goal is to help make journalists' lives easier while also ethically reaching the metrics demanded by clients. For me, I attack PR from the bottom up. I help my clients understand what can we do for media, instead of how we can use media. This also means staying current on solutions for the future of media, including how public relations can help.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, my personal hobbies and interests are as versatile as my professional life. If I am not at the gym power lifting or circuit training, you can catch me blogging, reading or podcasting.

I also occasionally attend live sporting events, the movies and music concerts. I often enjoy the company of friends and family

My brothers and sisters are really my motivation. All four of them are teenagers now so I am creating a model for them. Three of them moved in with me after COVID devastated our family. I spent the last decade doing my best to help bridge the gaps in their life, which is why I've built simultaneous careers over the last eight years. Read more about my work experience below.
